Draynor II[1], son of Vanyen, is the late King of Deren, Tralin's predecessor and adoptive father.
Appearance and Personality[]
Draynor is wise, benevolent, kind, fair and serene, qualities that allow him to be beloved by his people and be thought of as a great leader and a bringer of peace. He is also attentive.
In addition, he is a man of honor, bound to support his allies even if the Kingdom of Neld was a war-like, conquering nation[2]. Much like his successor, Draynor was unconventional and progressive.
Biography[]
Little is known about Draynor, except for the late years of his life. During a reign that lasted over twenty years, he achieved peace and stability for his kingdom. He had also tried to have children with his wife, but was unable to.
He was responsible for a first attempt at unifying the kingdom and promoting a long-lasting connection to the Drakel of K'eld Ner. Via his acceptance of their T'Palo, Tralin, and allowing him to live in the City of Deren twenty years before the events of War of the Words, he paved the way for the Drakel incorporation to the crown. With Tralin's help, he would implement reforms that helped the poor and the downtrodden.
Thirteen years later, he put an end to a long-standing war between his realm and the Kingdom of Neld thanks to Lord Delnar's leadership and subsequent victory during the Battle of Casomar. He, along the King of Neld, signed the Accord of Linter, agreeing to cease fire and become allies in case of an external invasion.[3]
Bound to honor[]
As a result of this treaty, he came to the aid of his allies during the Vandarian conquest and sent Lord Delnar, and later Tralin along the Frogzard Knights, to repel the invaders. During this time, he would consider and eventually adopt Tralin as heir apparent, since he had never been able to have children of his own.

- Draynor is the second king to bear the name, according to Falerin Ardendor's Express Soliloquy Edition of The Devourer Saga.
